This project started off with the accumulation of everything I’ve learned throughout my life. The tutelage and studies of math, science, engineering, astronomy and art.
The original concept was to postulate, “what would happen if you were at ground zero during first contact”?
From there it morphed into a corky comedy series that could be described as a Rick and Morty meets South Park.
For this was going to be a independent project, I started this animation with hiring an artist (my brother Kyle Grace) to sketch the characters and deliver a first concept in the form of a comic book.
Next, I would storyboard the entire opening sequence as that made the most sense for being able to shop the project around.
From there I found an animator (Pablo Campos) to begin to create an opening sequence for pitches for studios and producers.
This began the collaboration of going back and forth of iterations and how I wanted to blend a simple design with 24fps and 12fps animation styles.
With a small budget we delivered a quality product and are currently still shopping the idea around.
